Long Island born and raised, self-taught painter Diego Garcia has had a passion for art since childhood. Diego began his artistic journey inspired by Michael Jackson, Walt Disney, graffti and honors art classes at Brentwood High School. He started to take his craft seriously around the age of 17 with commission work and group exhibitions. The now 25-year-old artist finds himself showing his work in numerous galleries and venues on Long Island and in New York City. Since 2015 he has had two successful solo exhibitions. The first (Fire Away) in Huntington, NY and the second (Leaving) in Chelsea, NY. Diego's last show was a private art gala for The Covenant House NY, an organization which provides services for homeless youth in the city.
Diego now has a solo exhibition at the Huntington Arts Council, debuting to the public on April 6th, 2018. The show is titled Summit and will feature a brand new collection of paintings on view at the Council’s Gallery space (213 Main Street, Huntington NY, 11743) until April 28th.
